What is headache?

A painful sensation in any part of the head ranging from sharp to dull that may occur with other symptoms. It can be mild, moderate and severe.

What is Primary & Secondary headache?

  • Primary headaches
  • Primary headache include migraine, tension and cluster headaches as well as various other types of headache that affect quality of life. There are certain occasional headaches that resolve quickly while others become long term headaches.

  • Secondary headaches
  • Secondary headaches are those that are due to an underlying structural or infectious problem in the head or neck. This is a very broad group of medical conditions ranging from dental pain to bleeding in brain. People who drink too much alcohol may waken with a well-established headache due to alcohol and dehydration.

Types of headache

There are over 150 types of headaches but the most common types are listed below

  • Tension headaches
  • These are the most common types of headaches among adults or teens which causes only mild to moderate pain. These last for short time and usually have no other symptoms

  • Migraine headaches
  • They are often described as pounding, throbbing pain. These types of headaches can last from hours to days and are recurring in nature. Symptoms of migraine headaches

  • Sinus headaches
  • These headaches can make you feel deep and constant pain in your cheekbones, forehead or on the bridge of your nose. Other sinus symptoms include
